Commonly Asked Questions

  1. Is this the same as Highlands Basketball? â€‹â€‹No. Highlands is open to boys in grades 3–8 from Allendale, USR, HHK, and Saddle River. Ho-Ho-Kus Travel Basketball is for Ho-Ho-Kus residents only.

  2. Who runs Ho-Ho-Kus Travel Basketball? The same coaches and administrators behind Ridgewood Travel Basketball, All County Basketball Camp, Silverbacks Basketball, and The Shooting Zone/Kulture. We’ve been in the basketball space for 32 years and started Ridgewood Travel 12 years ago with a no-parent-coach model.

  3. Can my child play both Highlands and HHK Travel? Yes, and we encourage it. The leagues are different, so schedules rarely conflict.

  4. Can players form their own team? Yes, if 9–10 players agree to participate. This also makes carpooling easier.

  5. Do you make cuts? We try to place every player. If numbers don’t work out or a player isn’t ready, we may recommend an alternative program.

  6. Who are the coaches? Our staff includes former college players and experienced coaches, many with collegiate-level experience.

  7. Can parents coach? No. Our motto: No Parents. No Politics. No Problems. Just Basketball. Parents are encouraged to attend games and support the team.

  8. Where are games played? Home gyms include Lloyd School (HHK), Hoop Heaven Waldwick, Midland Park High School, and Marian Center Washington Twp.

  9. Where are practices held? One practice per week, Monday–Friday, at gyms in Ho-Ho-Kus and Waldwick.

No Parents. No Politics. No Problems. Just Basketball.
